An axis group defines the relationships between several mechanically dependent axes that collectively position and orient a tool or tool plate in the space. With the configurator, you select and configure the kinematics to be used. In addition, the SoftMotion axes can be assigned.
When you insert an axis group, a function block of type AXIS_GROUP_REF_SM3 is instantiated automatically. The name of the block is the object name of the axis group. Therefore, you can reference the axis group by this name in the application program.
