Functional Description

With this parameter, the disconnection time of the brake can be set. The disconnection time starts, when the brake is switched over electrically, so that its status changes from coupled to released. After the disconnection time, the drive accepts travel tasks. Usually this procedure is triggered because the drive goes in closed-loop control after switching on ControllerEnable. The parameter AxisState switches from 1 to 2 and the parameter BrakeState switches from 0 / coupled to 1 / released. After the disconnection time, the AxisState switches to 3.

If you set this parameter, you must make certain that the brake is mechanically released within the set disconnection time.

NOTE:  If BrakeDisconnectionTime is 0, then the disconnection time from the motor nameplate is used. By Schneider Electric motors this disconnection time is enough to release the brake mechanically before the drive accepts travel tasks. The corresponding disconnection times can be found in the motor manuals in the chapter Holding brake.

NOTE: The parameter value is transferred from the master to the slave via the parameter channel of the Sercos at every access. Typically, this takes about 10 ms. However, times up to 1 s can occur if there is a lot of data transferred on the parameter channel.
